Happy Friday – Vendors

One thing I love about shooting weddings is meeting the different vendors the bride has chosen to spend the day with. Between the florist, caterer, make-up artist, hair stylist, DJ and wedding coordinator, there are dozens of hands that go into creating the perfect wedding.

When I meet with brides and grooms, I suggest they choose vendors they trust and get along with. There is nothing fun about having a stressful hair stylist doing everyone’s hair or a high strung wedding coordinator pulling you in all different directions. Even if you’re deciding between friend’s who might be vendors, choose wisely.

Your vendors should know what they’re supposed to do and do it well with minimal questions and stress to you on the wedding day.

After you’ve made your selection of vendors, make sure they are taken care of. It’s never fun eating a cold boxed dinner at 11pm after a 10 hour day of shooting.

Throwing it back to my first ever wedding shoot in Fargo, North Dakota with the wonderful Elisabeth Iepson with Elisabeth Eden Photography.

Happy Friday – Food for Thought

There was a very interesting article that was published by the Wall Street Journal this week regarding the cost of weddings. If you haven’t had a chance to read it, you can find it here. The point of the article was, a new study shows that the length of your marriage is inversely related to the amount of money spent on your wedding. As you are planning your wedding, keep in mind the most important thing about your wedding isn’s the extravagant venue or hosting the biggest reception. Nope, it’s the vows said between a bride and groom.T&W17Hope this helps. Happy planning!
